How it Works (K-8)

The Ohio Virtual Academy is a tuition-free public school that uses the K¹² curriculum, which is accessed via an online school as well as through more traditional methods. Materials are delivered right to the family's doorstep—including books, CDs, and even microscopes and cell samples.

We also partner parents and students with a licensed teacher to help guide and track their progress through the curriculum. There are regular face-to-face meetings as well.

Student-to-student interaction is emphasized too, so OHVA students are always well educated and well socialized.

Who is this intended for?

The Ohio Virtual Academy K-8 program serves students in grades K-8 who reside within the state of Ohio.

What are the costs?

Because OHVA is part of the public school system, the Ohio Virtual Academy is tuition-free. Enrolled families receive the K12 curriculum, as well as a loaner computer, printer, and Internet stipend.

How do I get started?
