According to the most recent performance report cards released by the Ohio Department of Education, OHVA is the state's top-performing, statewide eSchool for the fifth year in a row.

The Ohio Virtual Academy’s Report Card designation for the 2006-2007 school year was “Continuous Improvement.”

• OHVA met 19 of 29 indicators (65.5 percent) on Ohio’s Report Card in 2007, including a 99.9 percent attendance rate and a 99.6 percent test participation rate.

• OHVA’s Performance Index Score for 2007 was 87.9—up 5.7 points from 2005.

• In comparison to other Ohio statewide electronic schools, OHVA exceeded its comparison group for the percentage of students at and above the proficient level in all 28 tested categories.

• More than 40 percent of OHVA’s grade 3 students tested as advanced in Reading—the highest level possible. Overall, the percentage of grade 3 students who were proficient or better in Reading and Mathematics grew by more than 10 percentage points between 2006 and 2007.

• In 2007, the first group of OHVA sophomore and junior students demonstrated their academic preparedness by meeting all 10 state academic indicators at the high-school level. These students exceeded the state’s proficiency rates on all five subject tests by at least 10 percentage points (and as many as 17 percentage points at the high end).

• Of the OHVA students in grade 10 who were tested, 96.8 percent were proficient or better in Mathematics, with more than 50 percent testing at advanced. Of this same group, 93.5 percent were proficient or higher in Reading.
